How Resolutions Move to Debate
Generally, GSIS MUN offers time for about 5 or 6 (give or take one or two) resolutions to be fully debated in General Assembly. While every student is expected to contribute to an excellent resolution, few of these can be debated by the entire GA.
Before our first evening of formal debate, therefore, each team will choose two resolutions (ranked 1 and 2) to advance to General Assembly. We will debate the #1 ranked resolution from each region/issues class as part of Docket A. When all five resolutions have been discussed, we will open Docket B and debate resolutions from that list as time permits.
Up to three nations may co-sponsor a resolution. Thus, allied nations within a team (or across classes) may wish to combine efforts to produce a single resolution for formal debate. Each delegate still needs to complete an individual resolution, but combined resolutions will allow multiple delegates to act as sponsors in General Assembly.
Resolutions for debate in GA will be posted here.
